Splurge or steal? The decision was made for me once the J. Crew Beaded Rose necklace sold out everywhere--I mean, EVERYWHERE. I resigned myself to a life without this stunner of a necklace. Then this beauty kept poppin' up all over my Instagram and I thought perhaps I was seeing things. But apparently there is this wonderful world of "J. Crew Inspired" jewelry--almost exact replicas at a fraction of the cost. I suppose I should have some kind of moral objection to this and while I would prefer the real deal, what's a girl to do? The statement necklace gods clearly wanted me to have this one. Who am I to object? For the record, it's great quality and the only difference I can note is that it's not as heavy as the J. Crew one.
Mint and tomato go well together, don't they? Maybe not in a sandwich but in an outfit. We know that complimentary colors work well together--blue and orange, yellow and purple, etc. But if you don't want to look like a member of the Knicks team, try pairing colors from the same color family to tone down the intestity. Instead of blue and orange, I chose a shade of blue and a shade of orange. Similarly, lavender and a yellow-green look great together.
