The fact of the matter is that they're millions of products on the market today. Say you're looking for lip balm--there's moisturizing ones, tinted ones, plumping ones, scented ones and any number of other deciding factors. Still, the most important of deciding factors for us will always come down to "how much?" And understandably so. We want the most bang for our buck, especially in beauty products that seem to claim they can solve a lot of our concerns (dark circles, I shake my fist at you).
Here's the first in a part of series bringing you my skincare favorites, categorized by price point: low, mid, high. No matter what your budget, there's sure to be an effective product for you!
LOW: Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes, $4.99
These are gentle on the skin and effectively remove make-up and does okay with waterproof eye make-up (doesn't get it ALL off, but good enough). It's refreshing and does not leave the skin feeling tight or dry--the added vitamins actually soften your skin. I feel compelled to stress that wipes are convenient for removing surface makeup but should be followed up with a proper cleanser (will address that in the next post) to deep clean.
MID: Bioderma Créaline H2O, $29
RAVE REVIEW ALERT! This product goes above and beyond--thoroughly cleanses the skin and breaks down waterproof make-up but it also soothes irritated skin and gives an immediate feeling of freshness. It's unscented and feels very much like water on the skin. It's $29 for a large 500ml bottle but a little goes a long way, since most days I use it to remove eye make-up in the evenings. I bought my bottle in January and still have a few uses left. Only problem is that it's a French brand and may be hard to come by in the States, but I've always found it on Amazon.
HIGH: Clarins Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser, $33
This is very similar to Bioderma in formulation--"water minus the water" feeling. It does a great job of removing make-up and impurities, with the added benefit of soothing peach essential water. While it is more accessible to Bioderma, it's also on the pricey side at $33 for 200ml, so you do run through it pretty quickly.
As always, I hope that was helpful. Stay tuned for my favorite cleansers next!
