Four for '14
I'm a little apprehensive about publicly making promises to myself when I know that resolutions are not my thing. But I feel different about this year for some reason--good things are going to happen, indeed. I feel motivated to be creative and organized, planning for the future but enjoy life in the moment. Here are a few things I want to keep in mind for this new year.
1. Your body hears everything your mind says.
And vice versa. I don't have an overall end goal, like lose 10 lbs or become vegan, but I do believe that I need to take better care of my body. I am what I eat and I hope that by making healthier choices, my mind will also be less stressed and clearer.
2. There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.
Happiness is a choice and I want to focus on the good in life. I get bogged down by stress and work, which in turn makes me lethargic, unproductive and, dare I say, cranky. The way I see it, I can either b**** and moan about every day problems or leave that baggage at the door and enjoy the good life.
3. You don't have to do more--do different.
With blogging, styling, cooking, designing--it's a competitive world out there where everyone is trying to out do each other. I think it's important to stay true to yourself and think creatively than compare your work to someone else's.
4. Buy less, choose well.
This will come to no surprise to those who know me well, but I'm absolutely awful at money management. It was comical in my early twenties but as someone who wants to get married, buy a house, and have kids, it's time to grow up.
Let's see how this plays out and revisit this in one year.
