On July 5th, 2014, at around one o'clock in the afternoon (only an hour behind schedule), my brother Nishan married Devi in a beautiful ceremony on a farm in Millville, NJ. There was the usual wedding day craziness leading up to this day but looking around at all the happy faces of family and friends as they took their vows there was a feeling of contentment I won't soon forget.
I am constantly overwhelmed by the love and support that surrounds our family. So many jumped up and began helping whenever they saw a job that needed to get done. You can plan a wedding to death, but it always comes back to the people who were there to make it special. Our family is forever grateful to all of those who helped and attended.
A bit of a different outfit post today with something I haven't done on here yet. A proper Indian wedding calls for the appropriate garb, after all. A big, huge special thanks to my dear cousin in Kolkata, Ritu, for selecting my outfits and getting them altered. She worked so hard to find things she knew would suit me--I knew I was in good hands! I love the lightweight multi-colored chiffon with the beautiful embroidered border. The bright pink against the white was perfect for an outdoor summer wedding.
Here's a few photos Rob took with our camera during the ceremony.
