Product Review // Kiehl's Avocado Eye Treatment

Avocado and skin care--two things very much up my alley.  I was excited to give this one a try because I've not yet found an eye cream I'm in love or one that I can confidently deem as effective.  This one is marketed as creamy and moisturizing and provides daily hydration to the sensitive eye area.

The first thing to point out is it is really creamy--like the consistency of whipped cream cheese and I mean that in the best possible way.  I can see why some people would think it is too thick because in the pot, it can seem heavy.  However, I found out quickly that you only need the tiniest amount for both eyes.  I like to dip my ring finger in lightly and rub it with my other ring finger to warm up the product and thin it out.  Then I just pat it in along the orbital bone.  At first, it seems like it won't absorb but then something magical happens.  It feels like a cream and then suddenly, it changes to a watery gel.  It's hard to describe but it kind of feels like you're rubbing water on your eyes.  The effect is cooling and refreshing.

I purposely didn't write this review until I finished the whole jar.  While I didn't notice a big difference over time in wrinkles or de-puffiness, I liked the immediate results.  It certainly hydrates and fills in any fine lines when applied.  It makes your concealer go on smoothly while not disturbing any eye makeup.

If your main concern is moisture, you should give this one a go.  If your main concern is anti-aging, I don't think this will have the effect you're looking for.  That being said, I like that this comes in two sizes.  The smaller jar at 0.5 oz for $28.50 and the larger 0.95 oz for $47.  I got the smaller one and it lasted a long time, especially since you only need a little bit.  Since eye creams are generally very expensive, I think that paying under $30 to try this one out is reasonable.  Also, if you're extremely oily, I wouldn't recommend this one.

I'm always on the hunt for a good eye cream.  Leave your recommendations below!
